Good Morning Flint Hill,
These are certainly unusual and challenging times for us. I cannot recall a circumstance in my 20 years of pastoral ministry, where churches were asked to suspend worship services and meetings. Unfortunately, that time is here now.
At the request of the Bishop, Cabinet and other Conference leadership and in response to the declaration from the CDC, Flint Hill will be suspending all gatherings through March 30. This is including all worship, Sunday Schools and small groups that meet during the week.
Here is the request from the Bishop:
“Thus, your cabinet, other Conference leadership and I are urging and requesting that for at least the next two weeks (March 16-30) all of our North Alabama Conference United Methodist Churches suspend in-person worship and gatherings. We will assess the situation week-by-week to determine when it is safe to resume worship services, using as guidance the wisdom of our local, state and national health authorities.”
The only exception will be the distribution of food on Thursday. We will be changing up completely the distribution. It will consist of a drive through and bags will be given to the people in their autos. We are requesting if your sick, elderly, in compromised health or have someone in your family who falls into those situations not to come to Food Pantry.
I will be setting up a way to do an online devotional during the week and I will also bring a message of the Grace of Jesus Christ on Sunday.
Remember, Flint Hill also is broadcast on Kowliga Country 97.5 FM at 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings. Please help us get this word out for those who do not have internet or Facebook.
I’ve been asked about the giving of offerings…you can certainly mail your check to the church or we now have a way to give on-line through the Flint Hill Web Site.
